The annual Erwin P. Bettinghaus Endowed Lecture focuses on issues regarding health communication. The lecture honors Erwin Bettinghaus, a health communication expert who served as dean of the College from 1976-1996.

The Ellis N. Brandt Endowed Lecture focuses on public relations and the public interest. It was created by the Gerstacker Foundation and named after Ellis N. Brandt (BA '43 Journalism), who is a vice president of the foundation.
