USA Today Medical Report Steve Sternberg, the 1999 recipient of the Global Health Council Excellence in Media Award for his series on AIDS in Africa, presented the annual Frederick S. Siebert Lecture at Michigan State University on Monday, November 6, 2006. His address - "Covering the plague: AIDS, the press and the personal journey". Environment Effects Risks for Breast Cancer? Dr. Charles Atkin, a principal investigator on the Breast Cancer and Environment Research Centers project, financed by the National Cancer Institute. The annual Bettinghaus Health Communication Lecture was presented September 29, 2006 at 3:30pm in 145 Communication Arts & Sciences Bldg., by Professor Rajiv Rimal, Johns Hopkins University. The lecture ws titled "Health Communication Scholarship at Work: Promoting Behavior Change for HIV Prevention in Sub-Suharan Africa". There was a reception following the lecture. Note: The presentation will be taped and available upon request. The lecture honors Erwin Bettinghaus, a health communication expert who served as CAS dean from 1975-1995.
