Elizabeth Taylor Quilliam, Assistant Professor, joined MSU in the Department of Advertising, Public Relations, and Retailing (APRR) in May 2008. She also has an appointment with the Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) and the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES), and serves as Associate Director of Children’s Central MSU, a group of researchers bringing a multidisciplinary approach to the study of children and media. Prior to Michigan State, she was the West Virginia University School of Journalism's first Harrison/Omnicom Professor of Advertising.
Dr. Quilliam’s research focuses on the intersection between marketing and society, with a particular focus on public policy issues related to media and children’s health. For example, she has studied the role of innovative advertising tactics in childhood obesity, parental response to food marketing targeting children, and direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising. |
